Students enrolled in the Performing Arts Program get many opportunities to perform. In the past, our students have performed in the Lakeville City Ballet’s Nutcracker, our own Rhythm Festival, our original production of Isabella Saves the World, Dances at the Lakes, Edinborough, Nickelodeon Universe, National Tap Dance Day, Dance for Courage, a fundraiser for the Courage Center, and of course our annual concert.

Annual Concert

The concerts will be Saturday, June 7, 2014. Shows are at 12:30 pm, 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm. Dancers in levels III-IV perform in both shows. Boys and adults will perform twice, divided between the three shows. Dress rehearsal will be Thursday, June 5 and Friday, June 6, 2014. Dancers will rehearse in 10 minute increments between the hours of 4 and 10 pm.

Costume fees are based on measurements taken in October: $75 for a small and medium child size; $80 for a large child size; $90 for child extra large and adult sizes small-large; $100 for adult extra large size. Costume prices include tights and some accessories. The costume fee is due with November tuition on November 1st . Dancers will purchase one costume for their ballet/tap class, and one for their jazz class. Costumes will be handed out during family visitation week in March.

Tickets for the show are $14 + tax and are reserved. Tickets go on sale during observation week in March/April. The concert is fun and a great learning experience!

The Annual Concert Information Packet is a comprehensive guide for the performance.

Classes will take place the week following the performance.

The Excellent Adventure!

Congratulations to all our dancers for a great first show! It was a huge hit!!

The Excellent Adventure is for our tap, jazz and hip hop classes. It will include jazz, tap, and hip hop dance, professional dancers, and possibly live music, and spoken word.

This is a great production about two siblings who think their music rules and their parents music is totally uncool. During an outing they run into a mystical DJ who overhears their critical comments, steals their iPod and takes them on a journey through the years to show them how the past influences the present. Dancers in levels II and up have the opportunity to participate in this special show. An additional participation fee of $7/month will be added to tuition beginning in October and running through June. Ballare Teatro provides all the costuming for this show.

Look forward to our next Excellent Adventure in March of 2016!

Isabella Saves the World

This is original ballet about the world being stuck in perpetual winter and the girl who helps spring return. Isabella travels from her home, to the place where the snowflakes are made. She gets past soldiers, battles the snow sorcereress, enlists help from the Evergreen Elder, the Sun Queen and the Rain Queen, and some other characters along the way. Will she succeed?

Our next Isabella Saves the World performance will be in March of 2015! Ballet dancers in level Fundamental B through level V and all levels of  Boys classes have the opportunity to participate in this special show.

The Creative Dance Show

Creative Dance and Music and Movement classes are not part of the formal year-end recital. Their performance will be Saturday, June 14, 2014 time and location TBD. This performance is FREE! This is intended to be a low-key introduction to performing. There are no costume costs incurred by the students family for this performance. Ballare Teatro provides all costuming for this show.
