Registration and Tuition
In order to register for a class in the Performing Arts Program, please fill out a registration form for each student. With your registration you will need to include a $20 administrative fee per student, plus tuition for the first month of class(es). Class sizes are limited to 10 for Preschool and Fundamental level classes, and 17 to classes for level I and up. Registration will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Enrollment is not complete until the registration form in completed and signed, and the registration fee and first month's tuition is received. The administrative fee is non-refundable. Tuition for dance classes is based on approximately 35 weeks of instruction broken into 9 1/2 monthly installments. Tuition is paid the first of each month. All tuition is paid through automated payment with debit or credit card. The administrative fee is non-refundable.
To register for a class in our Recreational Program, please fill out a registration form for each student. With your registration you will need to include a $10 administrative fee per student, plus tuition for the session. Class sizes are limited to 17, but must have at least 6 students to occur. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Enrollment is not complete until the rgistration form is completed and signed, and the administrative fee and session tuition is paid. The administrative fee is non-refundable. Once classes have begun, there are no refunds for recreational class tuition.
To register for an Adult Class, please fill out a registration form and purchase a class card. You may also drop in, if you don't want to purchase a card. If you choose to drop in, please call ahead to make sure the class is happening. The information listed below are 'guidelines' for adults. Adults do not need to adhere to the dress code requirements. We want you to be comfortable taking class here. Appropriate shoes are a good idea, but no one is going to be kicked out of class for not wearing a black leotard and pink tights!
Class cards are good for 10 classes and expire 12 weeks from the purchase date. There are no refunds for class cards. Once you register and purchase a class card, you may use it for any class!
Attendance
As in most learning situations, you get out of it what you put into it. You need to be present to learn. Absenteeism slows down the learning process for everyone. Please make every effort to avoid conflicts with other activities.
If a student must miss class, please inform the instructor well in advance, so the instructor may plan accordingly. If a student is too ill to come to class, please call and leave a message at the studio (612-721-8619), or e-mail us at ann@ballareteatro.com. . Students may not miss classes for eight weeks prior to performances, except in the case of illness, graded class events, or by special permission of the instructor.
Late admittance is not allowed ten minutes after class has begun. If a student is late, he/she should enter class and watch, and, in the case of the older students, take notes.
Placement
Enrollment is limited to 17 students in each class, with the exception of Creative Dance and Fundamental Levels, which are limited to 10 students. Class placement is made with the ability of the individual student in mind. If a student shows unusual progress during the year, he/she will be transferred to a more appropriate class. Likewise, if we feel a student is not meeting the ability of the class, he/she will be moved to a class more suitable for their ability. Activities are planned to meet the needs of each class as a whole.
Class Conduct
All students are expected to respect the studio, other students and the instructors. Students must willingly abide by all studio regulations and to conduct themselves in a courteous manner.
No gum, candy or pop is allowed in the studio
No talking during class. Raise your hand to ask questions.
No street shoes allowed in studio spaces.
If a student is misbehaving, we have a three-step procedure
The first time the student will be asked to pay better attention.
The second time, she/he will be asked to sit down and observe until they are ready to act appropriately.
The third time the student will be asked to exit the classroom and the parent will be notified as to the situation.
If the misbehaving is a repeated problem, the student will be asked not to return to the studio.
Discontinuing class
In order to discontinue taking classes, you must inform BALLAREteatro dance theatre in writing by the 15th of the month prior to when you will be dropping. Students will continue to be charged for classes until the studio is notified of a students desire to discontinue.
Liability
Students and/or observers cannot hold BALLAREteatro or its instructors responsible for any personal injuries or property damage or loss while attending school, or coming or leaving any class or program.
