Classes begin September 6, 2011!
Ballare Teatro Performing Arts Center offers two different
programs to meet the needs of students, parents and
the community. The Recreational Program is for those who want
to dabble in dance, and the Performing Arts Program is for those
who are ready for more of a commitment to dance instruction.
Both programs provide excellent instruction.
Performing Arts Program Class Levels
Fundamental Level A: Dance for 5 year olds. Introduction
to basic dance terms and technique.
Fundamental Level B: Dance for 5-6 year olds who have had
Fundamental A. This class will move a little more quickly because
the dancers have had one year of the fundamental level.
Level IA: Training for children ages 7-9 or
for those who have
successfully completed the fundamental level.
Students will
begin building strength, developing proper alignment, and
a
better understanding of basic dance elements.
Level IB: Training for dancers who have had Level IA but are not yet ready to advance to level II. This class moves a little more quickly because the dancers have a good general knowledge of the terms and technique but just need some polishing of their skills.
Level II: Teaching for children ages 10-12 or for those who have
mastered the requirements of Level I. Students should have a solid
understanding of dance terms, techniques and steps. Strength and alignment continues to be stressed. Students will be expected to grasp more difficult concepts. Dancers who have been in level II for one year but are not advancing to level III are required to register for Jazz II.
Level III: Training for those who have mastered all the requirements of Level II. Strength, alignment and technique continue to be stressed and built upon. Students
are expected to be able to learn by watching, with less explanation than previously required. This class will move more quickly and is designed to develop and challenge the dancer.
Level IV: Training for those who have mastered the requirements of Level III. Class content is more technical, complex and challenging, with a professional atmosphere. Students are dedicated to becoming well-trained dancers. Dancers in level IV have made a commitment to
dance training. Dancers in this level are required to take ballet, tap, jazz, modern, technique and pointe
preparation. Participation in Isabella Saves the World and the Rhythm Festival is mandatory. Enrolling in
summer dance is strongly encouraged.
Level V: Training for dancers who have mastered the requirements of level IV. Dancers in Level V have made a commitment to dance training. This is an intermediate/advanced level of dancing. Dancers in this level are required to take ballet, tap, jazz, modern, technique and pointe preparation or pointe. Participation in Isabella Saves the World and the Rhythm Festival is mandatory. Enrolling in summer
dance is strongly encouraged.
