Attendance
As in most learning situations, you get out of it what you put into it. You need to be present to learn. Absenteeism slows down the learning process for everyone. Please make every effort to avoid conflicts with other activities.
If a student must miss class, please inform the instructor well in advance, so the instructor may plan accordingly. If a student is too ill to come to class, please call and leave a message at the studio (612-721-8619), or e-mail us at ann@ballareteatro.com. Students may not miss classes for eight weeks prior to performances, except in the case of illness, graded class events, or by special permission of the instructor.
Late admittance is not allowed ten minutes after class has begun. If a student is late, he/she should enter class and watch, and, in the case of the older students, take notes.
Placement
Enrollment is limited to 17 students in each class, with the exception of Creative Dance and Fundamental Levels, which are limited to 10 students. Class placement is made with the ability of the individual student in mind. If a student shows unusual progress during the year, he/she will be transferred to a more appropriate class. Likewise, if we feel a student is not meeting the ability of the class, he/she will be moved to a class more suitable for their ability. Activities are planned to meet the needs of each class as a whole.
Class Conduct
All students are expected to respect the studio, other students and the instructors. Students must willingly abide by all studio regulations and to conduct themselves in a courteous manner.
• No gum, candy or pop is allowed in the studio
• No talking during class. Raise your hand to ask questions.
• No street shoes allowed in studio spaces.
• If a student is misbehaving, we have a three-step procedure: The first time the student will be asked to pay better attention. The second time, she/he will be asked to sit down and observe until they are ready to act appropriately. The third time the student will be asked to exit the classroom and the parent will be notified as to the situation. If the misbehaving is a repeated problem, the student will be asked not to return to the studio.
Discontinuing Class
In order to discontinue taking classes, you must inform Ballare Teatro Performing Arts Center in writing by the 15th of the month prior to when you will be dropping. Students will continue to be charged for classes until the studio is notified of a students desire to discontinue.
Liability
Students and/or observers cannot hold BALLAREteatro or its instructors responsible for any personal injuries or property damage or loss while attending school, or coming or leaving any class or program.
